Receipta Ledgers (“Receipta”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal and business information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and related regulations.

1. Scope of Services

Receipta is a transaction logging and financial record-structuring service designed for businesses that operate via messaging platforms (primarily WhatsApp). We do not provide banking, payment processing, lending, or any service that involves holding or transferring funds.

2. Information We Collect

• Business name and business-related contact details
• Phone numbers used to interact with the service
• Transaction data that you voluntarily submit (sales, expenses, parties, amounts, dates)
• Messages you send to our WhatsApp Business number
• Basic technical data necessary for the service to function (e.g. timestamps, delivery status)

We do not access your personal WhatsApp chats or any messages you do not send to us.

3. How We Use Information

• To process your messages into structured financial records (Sales Register, Expense Register, Cashbook, Ledgers, etc.)
• To maintain your account and provide weekly summaries or reports you request
• To support and improve the reliability of the service
• To communicate with you about your account or service updates
• To comply with legal obligations

4. WhatsApp Integration

Receipta only processes messages that you voluntarily send to our official WhatsApp Business number. We do not initiate unsolicited conversations, do not access personal chats, and operate strictly within Meta’s WhatsApp Business policies.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the basis of: (a) your consent when you choose to use the service; (b) performance of the service contract; and (c) our legitimate interest in operating and improving a reliable record-keeping tool.

6. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored securely using industry-standard technical and organisational measures. We retain transaction data for as long as you maintain an active account or as required to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion at any time (see section 9).

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only when required by law or with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality (e.g. cloud hosting). Any such providers are bound by data processing terms.

8. Your Rights

Under the NDPA you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)

9. Account & Data Deletion

You may permanently delete your account and associated data at any time by sending the message:

1. Service Overview

Receipta Ledgers provides a system that converts business transaction messages (sent via WhatsApp or other supported channels) into structured financial records such as Sales Registers, Expense Registers, Cashbooks and related ledgers.

2. WhatsApp Integration

Receipta only processes messages that users voluntarily send. The system:

• Does NOT access personal chats
• Does NOT send unsolicited messages
• Operates strictly within WhatsApp Business API / Meta policies

3. Eligibility

You must be legally permitted to operate a business or conduct the transactions you record in your jurisdiction.

4. User Responsibilities

• Provide accurate transaction information
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws
• Maintain the confidentiality of your business data and access credentials
• Use the service only for legitimate business record-keeping

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Receipta for:

• Fraudulent or illegal activities
• Money laundering or any criminal purpose
• Abuse of third-party platforms (including WhatsApp)
• Any activity that violates Nigerian law or the laws of your jurisdiction

6. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Receipta does not verify the accuracy of transaction data you submit. You are solely responsible for the correctness of all information entered. Generated reports and ledgers are only as accurate as the data you provide.

7. No Financial Advice or Services

Receipta is a record-keeping tool only. We do not provide accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. We are not a bank, payment service provider, or licensed financial institution.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may be updated, modified or discontinued. We are not liable for temporary interruptions beyond our reasonable control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Receipta and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Financial decisions made using data or reports generated by the service
• Losses arising from incorrect or incomplete user inputs
• Service interruptions, data loss, or third-party platform issues (including WhatsApp)
• Any indirect, incidental or consequential damages

10. Third-Party Services

The service depends on third-party platforms (especially WhatsApp / Meta). Your use of those platforms remains subject to their own terms and policies.

11. Intellectual Property

The Receipta name, logo, software and documentation are owned by Receipta Ledgers. You may not copy, modify or distribute them without prior written permission.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
